Sports Day - Thursday 5th March

Please remember to send in your permission slips as soon as possible.  All Deli Fresh is cancelled and students bring in their own lunch on that day.  Kids need to wear their PE uniform on the day.  It gets mighty hot so shorts are preferable.
Buses are booked for children only to return to school.  If you collect your child from the sports grounds you must do so via a different form of transport.

Book Week

Next week is Book Week.  Please remember the following events.
  • Book Swap - Monday 2nd March
  • Bring in favourite book - Whole School Read-In!  - Monday 2nd March
  • Dress Up Day - Friday  6th March

Calling Structural Experts!

We want you!

We are looking for parents with skills, knowledge and expertise in anything structural; architects, engineers, builders and surveyors to come in and talk to the children.  If you fit the bill, please contact your class teacher to arrange a time that you can come in and share your knowledge and experiences with the Year 4 children.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

It has been a busy few weeks since Christmas and again we are off to celebrate a wonderful festival.  Happy Year of the Sheep to you all.  We look forward to seeing you in the New Chinese Year and at our sharing day on the 13th March.
Have a happy, safe and relaxing break!

Mathletics Live

We have noticed a number of students are struggling to remember their basic facts.  Mathletics Live is an outstanding practice tool for quick recall of basic facts (times tables, quick division, addition and subtraction).  The school pays for this brilliant resource for your children and also supports our maths program at school.
Please encourage and support your child to use Mathletics on a regular basis.  All passwords are in the school diary.

Homework

Each week there is a large number of children across Year 4 who do not hand in or complete their homework.  We are extremely disappointed as homework is an integral part of our class program and management.
Our biggest concern is those children who report they had not time to do BHS homework as they had other homework to do for tutoring and extra classes.  Class based homework should be the priority.
For any further discussion on this point please contact your class teacher.
